Did you have a naughty, or a nice holiday season? Mine was rather nice.
and now, on to a random story.... about 3 months ago this happened to Nick and I.... and it's really funny so i would suggest you continue reading, even if you're not an avid reader.... The night started as any other would. We had just gotten our newborn son Isaiah to finally hit the sack, (at about 12:30a.m.) and were trying to catch up on some house work that easily finds itself left undone when you have a new baby. Just before heading off to bed i realized we had left something important in the car, i can't remember what it was now but it was important back then. Anywho, Nick decided to run out and get it. it's now 1:00 in the morning mind you. He opened the door only to see a young girl sitting on our porch with no shoes on and looking quit nervous. Thinking it was just a friend of Clint's he asked, "oh, you here for Clint?" she shook her head no, and not knowing what to do he got the stuff from the car and came back in the house to tell me the goings on. We decided that even though we would have liked to have slept, we better go invite this stranger inside and see if she needed help. Nick again stepped outside and asked, "Are you okay?" she responded, "not really." to this she was invited in. Turns out she was at an underage drinking party over in Cedar Hills, about 2 miles away. and although she claims to have not been drinking by the rest of the story you'll have to assume no one could have been sober to do this. the cops showed up and she got nervous and ran, along with all of her buddies. As they ran they tried to stay in contact with each other via the phone. Her friend, who was on her phone, said, "they have dogs." well that was the last of it for our dear friend. She took off full speed, with no shoes, no phone, no friends, no nothing and ran all the way to our doorstep, through field after field, after field. And then just sat there as she had no clue where she was or what to do. CRAZY! well we got her a phone, some shoes, and a glass of water. Heck we even offered her a ride to wherever she needed to go. She did get ahold of her friends from the party, who also claim to be sober. and that's the last we ever heard of her, or my shoes. which she promised to return, not like we really believed she would, but still, after all we did for her she could have at least brought my shoes back. oh, well. so that's my crazy story about opeining your door in the middle of the night, and how maybe you shouldn't unless you have an entire collection of shoes you won't feel too bad about loseing. :) Happy Holidays everyone.
